Ribonuclease, E-Rase™ RNase Blend Product Information

E-Rase™ is an optimized blend of purified ribonucleases with differing base cleavage specificities designed to achieve more complete digestion of target RNA in applications requiring its complete removal such as in plasmid purification, ribonuclease protection assays, RT-PCR, etc. Bovine pancreatic RNase A (RPDF) cleaves RNA after U and C whereas Aspergillus oryzae RNase T1 (RT1S) preferentially cleaves RNA after G. The combination of these enzymes digests RNA more efficiently than either one alone. E-Rase™ contains 0.5mg/ml RPDF and 100,000 u/ml of RT1S and is prepared in 50% glycerol for convenient storage and use.

Unit Definition: One unit is defined as the amount of E-Rase™ required to completely digest 10µg of yeast RNA in 20µl 10mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5 containing 15mM NaCl in 30 minutes at 37°C.
